Sussex Wine Club - Beaucastel and Beyond

The event is hosted by a world-leading wine producer from Famille Perrin, and our director and winemaker Richard Gladwin. Held on Wednesday the 20th of October, the Sussex Wine Club is a ticketed event that sees guests indulging in a five-course Local and Wild menu, culminating in our signature Sussex Venison Wellington all paired with wines from Chateau Beaucastel and an apple cider brandy to enjoy with dessert. 

Namely Famille Perrin hosts an evening of 'Beaucastel and Beyond' as we explore six beautiful wines including a 2020 Miraval rosé alongside AAA Maldon Rock oysters and Oliver Gladwin's signature marmite éclairs. For starters a dish of monkfish carpaccio served with 2019 Chateauneuf-Du-Pape 'Les Sinards' Blanc.

Hyper seasonal onion squash from Nutbourne Place farm is made into a divine gnocchi with Tunworth foam, paired with 2015 Vinsobres Vielles Vignes and a 2011 Domaine De Clos De Tourelles. The main course, a showstopping Sussex venison fillet wellington served with figs, is matched with the equally bold Chateau Beaucastel 2015 and Chateau Beaucastel 2009. 

For pudding, end the meal in the best way we know how to, with a Rachels goat's cheese, apricot and honey tart served with a Local and Wild favourite - Kingston Black Apple Cider Brandy from Somerset. 

The evening starts at 7 pm in the chic Sussex restaurant bar, with a welcome glass. Guests are then seated as their hosts for the evening introduce themselves and, of course, the wine. Experience a guided tour of exceptional food and wine - altogether a true expression of an ultimate Sussex Wine Club experience.
